Operations Assistant - North Lakes

This is an excellent opportunity to further your career by joining Contour Consulting Engineers’ (Contour) North Lakes team. Contour is a privately owned business with offices in North Lakes and Maroochydore, providing multi-faceted engineering services throughout Queensland.

Contour is looking to secure the services of an experienced Operations Assistant, to assist our Executive Management Team, our Manager – Service Delivery, and other team members in the delivery of our services.  Although Contour has an automated phone system that assists in directing existing clients and referrers to our team members, this position is responsible for being the initial point of contact for new clients and referrers.

This role is full-time, and the successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:

Applicants should have a minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position and possess exceptional verbal and written communications skills. Attention to detail is also a must for this position.

This position is based in North Lakes but will be required to attend the Sunshine Coast office a minimum of fortnightly.  Given the nature of the position, it is office based, and work from home will not be possible.

Civil Engineer - Sunshine Coast

Contour Consulting Engineers has a position available for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Maroochydore office. This is an excellent opportunity for career enhancement, joining a progressive engineering consultancy practice. Contour is a privately owned business with multi-faceted engineering disciplines servicing various industries including property development, infrastructure works, sporting facilities, and other miscellaneous works. We have two offices, the second office situated in North Lakes.

Ideally the successful applicant will have the following credentials and skillsets:

  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), or close to eligibility
  • 5+ year’s experience in technical reporting for civil projects plus supervision of detailed design of civil infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Planning Schemes code requirements relevant to engineering design, plus associated codes, guidelines and Australian Standards
  • Contemporary stormwater management and hydraulic assessment expertise including the ability to utilise programs such as Music, XP-Storm and TUFLOW
  • Experience with urban road design, stormwater drainage, plus sewer and water reticulation
  • Experience in checking engineering drawings and managing approval processes
  • Preparation of Estimates and Bill of Quantities
  • Acute communication skills to liaise with the team, senior management and external stakeholders to produce commercial, client focused outcomes
  • Enthusiasm and drive to contribute to the growth and development of the company
  • Experience in south-east Queensland and particularly the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay areas would be considered favourably by the Directors, as would knowledge of Unitywater and Urban Utilities processes.

Construction Supervisor - South-East Queensland

Contour Consulting Engineers has a position available for an experienced Construction Supervisor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for career enhancement, joining a progressive engineering consultancy practice. Contour is a privately owned business with multi-faceted engineering disciplines servicing various industries including property development, infrastructure works, sporting facilities, and other miscellaneous works. We have two offices, situated in Maroochydore and North Lakes, servicing our clients throughout South-East Qld. This role could be based at either office location.

Ideally the successful applicant will have the following credentials and skillsets:  

  • 10+ year’s construction supervision experience on civil projects, covering roads, stormwater, sewer and water infrastructure
  • Previous construction supervision experience on structural projects, covering concrete reinforcement, timber and steel framing
  • Familiarity with South-East Qld Council’s and Water Authorities associated schemes, codes, guidelines and Australian Standards
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting engineering design drawings
  • Contract Administration experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a verbal and written communication with internal team members, local authorities, contractors and clients
  • Actively contribute to the civil engineering and design teams with respect to construction practices and techniques
  • Ability to review civil engineering designs and provide advice relevant to compliance and constructability, and review Estimates and Bill of Quantities
  • Willingness to work remotely to service Contour’s construction projects
 

We consider the successful applicant would predominantly work remotely, servicing projects in the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Brisbane, Logan, Sommerset and Toowoomba Council areas.

The position will come with a fully serviced vehicle, and a full home office computer system, including laptop, monitors and printer.
